Weverstraat Oosterbeek 1944
The Weverstraat in Oosterbeek was a site where heavy battle was waged. Few homes were left standing after the war, and those that remained were damaged beyond repair. The canvas features a recently taken out Tiger Tank from the SS Armored Division. This tank weighed 68 tons, but was relatively vulnerable due to the fuel and ammunition stored in its body: the allied forces knew that if you hit the dome, the vehicle was certain to explode.
