Solders we are, comrades
in life and death
marching along in long queues
from dawn until dusk
Freedom bleeds wherever we go
we bravely fight forward but
when one mate falls
our respect silently remains
for each grave we leave behind
Helmets on a wooden cross
we quietly carry the names with us
as human beings and comrades
And however long the war
has also buried our voices
the future will never be kept silent
about the sacrifice we have given
Now rest, brave soldier
and farewell
my comrade
